The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Certz Verifier
Certz Verifier is an advisory browser extension for checking Certz-issued certificates.
When opened on a website, it verifies:
- the site publishes a Certz certificate
- the certificate is signed by the pinned Certz CA root
- the certificate matches the current hostname
- the certificate digest is recorded on the Oasis Sapphire testnet registry
- the site can sign a fresh nonce, proving it currently holds the matching private key
Certz Verifier does not replace browser TLS validation, install a trusted root, change the browser lock icon, or intercept HTTPS traffic. It is an out-of-band verification layer for the Certz research demo.
