CaughtSlipping

Your screen time is snitching. CaughtSlipping tracks where your day actually goes online, tells you the truth about it, and steps in when you take it too far. Free, private, no account needed. WHAT IT DOES A daily roast that lands. Open the extension and get the days damage with commentary matched to how far you've taken it, from "suspiciously light" to "HR would like a word." Fresh every day. See where the day really went: A clean breakdown of YouTube, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Reddit, and any custom sites you add, worst offender first. A shame meter that fills as the hours do. A focus score, not just guilt: Flip to the Productivity view for your focused-time percentage, a 7-day trend, and your longest focus streak today. Limits that actually stop you: give any site a daily budget. Hit it and the tab redirects to a full-screen wall with a countdown to midnight. Need five more minutes? Snooze it. But you have to choose to. A speed bump for the rabbit hole: re-open a site you've already overdone today and CaughtSlipping pauses you: a three-second breath, your live stats, and an easy exit. Work Mode/Caught Grinding : some people don't waste time, they never step away from it. Turn on Work Mode and the app inverts: it tracks your work, spots late nights, weekend grind, and 90-minute stretches without a break, and tells you, plainly, to log off. Off by default. Per-site data is only ever collected while Work Mode is on. Track anything: Netflix, TikTok, a streaming site, your personal kryptonite. Add any domain and it's tracked, counted, and blockable just like the built-ins. Receipts you can share: turn today's damage into a clean, branded share card and post it or copy it to your clipboard. WHY IT'S DIFFERENT Most time trackers quietly undercount. They watch your mouse and keyboard, so the moment you sit back to watch a show, they call you "idle" and stop counting — an hour of video shows up as three minutes. CaughtSlipping doesn't miss it: if a tab is playing audio or video, it keeps counting, even buried in a streaming site's player. When you genuinely step away — idle, screen locked, or you leave the browser — it stops. A tab left playing to an empty room is capped, so it can't lie to you either. An hour watched reads as an hour. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT No account. No sign-in. No servers. Nothing you browse is uploaded anywhere — every number lives on your own device, in your own browser. The only outside request the extension ever makes is fetching a site icon from Google's public favicon service for custom sites you add — that request contains only a domain name, nothing else.
