The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Caret
Save any prompt once. Type a trigger symbol in the chat input to search and insert it without leaving the keyboard. All data stays in your browser. Nothing is sent to any server.
HOW IT WORKS
Type your trigger symbol (default: >) at the start of a message or after a space. A dropdown opens with your saved prompts. Type to filter, use arrow keys or Ctrl+J/Ctrl+P to move, and press Enter or Tab to insert the prompt at your cursor. Press Escape to dismiss.
FEATURES
• Prompt library: create, edit, and delete prompts with a name, label, and body
• Labels: group prompts by label and filter in the side panel
• Type-to-search dropdown: command-palette style, appears above the chat input
• Keyboard navigation: arrow keys, Ctrl+J/Ctrl+P (Cmd+J/Cmd+P on Mac), Enter or Tab to insert, Escape to dismiss
• Per-site trigger config: set a different symbol per site to avoid conflicts with native shortcuts
• GitHub sync: pull prompts from a GitHub repository. Sync is read-only and triggered manually. Subdirectories map to labels. Locally-edited synced prompts are preserved when they share the same name and label as a remote prompt.
• JSON export and import: back up and restore your library
• Local storage: all data stays in your browser with nothing sent to any server

PRIVACY
Caret does not collect or transmit any personal data. All prompts and settings are stored locally in your browser. GitHub sync only contacts api.github.com when you manually trigger it.
