The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About KnotSafe
Ever edited a record and realised a second too late that you were in Production?
KnotSafe makes the org you're in impossible to miss.
The moment a Salesforce page loads, KnotSafe reads the URL and shows you where
you are:
• **Production** — a red border across the top of the page and a red badge.
• **Sandbox** — green border and badge.
• **Scratch Org** — blue border and badge.
Detection works across every Salesforce surface: Lightning, Setup, Visualforce,
and Experience sites.
**Record Lock**
Flip the lock on and KnotSafe blocks write actions on that org until you turn it
off. It works on an allow-list: buttons that are provably read-only or
navigational stay clickable, and everything else — Edit, Delete, quick actions,
file uploads, inline edit — is disabled. Turn it off the moment you actually mean
to change something.
Just click the badge to toggle the lock — no popup, no menu. Record Lock defaults
to ON for Production and OFF for Sandbox and Scratch Orgs, and your choice is
remembered per-org.
**Read-only lock for any website**
On every other site, KnotSafe adds a small Lock Site badge. Turn it on and clicks,
form submits, edits, uploads and drag-and-drop are blocked while reading and
navigation keep working. Choose per-site or all-sites, add an optional password,
a sound when an action is blocked, and auto-hide. Open the gear on the badge for
settings.
**Make it yours**
• Pick your own colour for each environment.
• Drag the badge anywhere on the page — it stays where you put it.
**Privacy**
KnotSafe reads the page hostname and interactive elements locally to work out the org type and enforce the lock. That's it. No account, no
sign-up, no analytics, no servers — nothing ever leaves your browser. Your
settings live in local Chrome storage.
