About Caliph – Website Blocker, To-Do List & Focus Timer
You sit down with something to do, then open Reddit or YouTube without thinking. Caliph brings your own tasks into that moment, with a way to start one.
Add the websites you keep opening out of habit and the tasks you want to get done. The next time you visit one of those websites, your tasks appear first. Pick one, set up a focus session and start the timer.
You don't need to remember to open Caliph or start a timer beforehand. The website visit brings up the reminder. Your to-do list and focus timer are there when you can use them.
Need LinkedIn for work? Wait through the short pause and choose to continue. You decide whether to stay with a task or visit the website.
How it works
• Pick the websites that pull you in, like YouTube, Reddit or LinkedIn.
• Open one, and Caliph pauses it and shows your tasks.
• Choose a task, open its focus setup and start the timer, or deliberately continue to the website.
Keep your next step ready
• A simple to-do list on the Caliph website (app.caliphapp.com): Lists, tasks, notes and subtasks.
• A focus timer in the Chrome extension that records time against the task you choose.
• An optional account for the extension, so your tasks and chosen websites can stay in sync with the Caliph task website. You can also use the extension locally without signing in.
For people who have something they want to do and keep opening the same websites anyway. That might be client work, an assignment or a personal task you've been meaning to start.
Privacy, plainly: Caliph checks a page's address only inside your browser, to see if it's on your pause list. The current page address is handled locally, including temporary tab-session storage so Continue returns you to that page. Caliph does not send a browsing-history record to its servers.
