About Caliber Browser Audio Availability
Keep explicitly requested browser audio available to your local Caliber Windows service while physical speakers stay silent.
This companion connects to the separately installed Caliber Browser Media Windows service. During a bounded agent listening request, it verifies the requested tab and can temporarily clear a mute applied by the ChatGPT automation extension. It preserves user mutes and restores its change when listening ends, the tab changes, the connection is lost or physical output can no longer be confirmed silent.
The status panel shows the current requested tab and confirmation state. Enable automatic availability once after installation; it then runs at browser startup without a per-video click. You can pause it in the panel at any time.
The companion checks requested tab URLs, mute ownership and competing audible tabs locally. Current request information is kept in browser session memory and removed when the request ends or expires. It does not read browser history, page contents or microphone input, record audio, execute remote code or send browsing data to a remote server. The separate Windows service performs bounded browser audio capture and local transcription for the requesting agent.
Requires Windows, the Caliber Browser Media service and registration of the native companion. This private deployment is for Caliber's approved PCs. Service connection does not itself prove successful audio; the requesting agent verifies the captured result. Other profiles sharing the browser process require isolation or independently verified silence.
