About Browser Shield

Browser Shield lets you choose the User-Agent identity presented to websites. Start with a common identity or independently choose an operating system, browser, and browser version, then reload the site to apply it. Features: - start from a common OS identity profile - independently adjust the operating system, browser, and browser version, including uncommon combinations for testing - choose a browser family with selectable versions or enter a custom version - updates the request User-Agent header and common browser identity fields - keeps your choice locally on your device - quickly verify the browser-side and server-side identity that a test page sees Browser Shield reduces basic browser and operating-system signals. It does not provide anonymity, hide your IP address, change the browser engine, or prevent advanced fingerprinting. Some sites may behave unexpectedly when shown an identity that does not match the underlying browser. Frequently asked questions: Q: Can a website tell that I changed my identity? A: Yes. Some websites can compare the identity you selected with other browser signals. Browser Shield helps reduce basic identity signals; it is not an anti-detection or anonymity tool. Q: A website looks different or shows keyboard shortcuts that do not match my keyboard after I change my identity. What can I do? A: Websites often adapt their layout, features, and shortcut hints to the browser and operating system they receive. After you select a different identity, a site may show shortcuts that do not match your keyboard, and some commands may not work as shown. - Try a different browser and operating-system combination that better suits the site. - If the site still does not work as expected, turn off "Use privacy identity" and reload it. The site will then see your normal browser identity.
