About Braver

Keep sensitive message text and files in Braver while continuing your conversation in Gmail. Turn on Secure message in your Gmail compose or reply, move text you already wrote into the inline secure editor or start writing there, attach files there, and use Gmail’s Send button. Braver prepares a secure link before handing the email to Gmail. Secure links expire after seven days. Requires an authorized Braver staff account. Recipients can open the link through Braver without installing this extension. Anyone with a link can read its message until expiry, so do not forward secure links. Gmail may retain an earlier copy of text written before you enabled secure messaging. Email subjects, signatures, quoted history, Gmail attachments, and ordinary replies remain ordinary email. Secure messages support one recipient, text, and up to 10 secure files of 25 MB each. Attach files inside the secure editor; the Gmail paperclip is disabled in secure mode. Save downloads to charts: when you download a discharge summary, lab result or other document from another website, Braver suggests the matching patient and lets you save the file to their Braver chart instead of your computer. You can switch patients, search, download it normally, or discard it. Detection is on for anyone signed in to Braver and can be switched off in the popup; a second switch captures every download for sites where matching misses. Braver uses the filename and a short excerpt of patient details from the source page, or the clinical document inside a record-export ZIP, to suggest a matching patient. Only Save to chart files the document. Print to charts: choose Save to Braver as the destination in Chrome’s print dialog to send the printed PDF to the same patient-selection window. Chrome’s separate Save as PDF destination continues to save locally. Rounds in Google Meet: in a Blue Pod Rounds or Red Pod Rounds call, opens the Braver rounds Meet add-on in the side panel and joins the shared activity automatically, so the team's daily rounds document appears for everyone without hunting through Meeting tools. The rounds add-on must already be installed for your Google account. Other meetings are left alone. With an existing Braver staff session, the rounds panel connects automatically without an extra sign-in click. Signed-out users still need to sign in. This update also improves opening the rounds activity, adds clearer recovery instructions after extension updates in Gmail, and places patient-search loading feedback inside the search field.
