About BPM & Key Finder — Song Key & Tempo Detector

Find the BPM, musical key, scale and Camelot code of an audio track in seconds — without uploading it anywhere. Choose a file and the entire analysis runs locally inside your browser. No account or sign-up is required, and the file never leaves your computer. Built for DJs planning harmonic sets, producers matching samples, remixers preparing tracks, and musicians who need to know a song’s tempo and key before playing along. WHAT YOU GET • BPM (tempo) — detected directly from the audio instead of looked up in a database • Musical key and scale — covering all major and minor keys • Camelot code — the number-and-letter wheel position used for harmonic mixing • A confidence score, so you know when a result is worth double-checking • One-click copy for every detected value HOW TO ANALYZE A TRACK Drag an audio file onto the extension popup or click to choose one from your device. If Chrome can decode the file, the extension can analyze it directly in your browser. Results appear in one clear view, ready to copy into your DJ library, production notes or set plan. WHY THE ANALYSIS RUNS LOCALLY Many online BPM finders and song key detectors upload tracks to a server for processing. This extension does not. Its detection engine runs in a sandboxed page inside the extension, so unreleased demos, client work and private recordings stay on your computer. There is no backend receiving the audio and no account to create. COMMON USES • Prepare tracks for harmonic DJ mixing with BPM and Camelot information • Match the tempo and musical key of samples before producing a remix • Check a backing track before singing or playing along • Organize a music library by tempo, key and scale • Review uncertain results using the included confidence score FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How do I find the BPM of a song? Open the extension and choose the audio file. The BPM appears after analysis alongside the musical key, scale, Camelot code and confidence score. How does the song key detector work? The extension analyzes tonal information in the audio to estimate its musical key and scale. The result also includes the corresponding Camelot code for harmonic mixing. What is a Camelot code? It is a shorthand used by DJs for harmonic mixing. Each musical key maps to a number plus A for minor or B for major, making it easier to identify tracks that are likely to mix well together. Can it detect the key of a song playing in a browser tab? Not yet. This version analyzes audio files selected from your device rather than capturing audio from a website or browser tab. Is the BPM and key detection accurate? The extension reports a confidence score with every result. Clean, tonal material usually produces a stronger result, while heavily processed or atonal tracks may be worth verifying by ear. Does my audio get uploaded? No. The analysis runs locally in your browser, and the selected audio file is not sent to a processing server. Is it free? Yes. No account or sign-up is required.
