The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Bookmark Canvas: Visual Bookmark Manager
Bookmark Canvas turns your bookmark list into something you can actually recognize at a glance.
Chrome's built-in bookmarks are just text — a list of titles that all start to look the same once you have more than a few dozen. Bookmark Canvas replaces that list with a visual grid: a real thumbnail for every bookmark, so you're scanning pictures of the actual pages instead of reading titles one at a time. Click the toolbar icon to open it. It works on your real Chrome bookmarks, so nothing is imported, converted or locked in.
THUMBNAILS THAT TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES • Thumbnails capture automatically in the background as you browse • Bookmark any page with a thumbnail in one step: right-click → "Bookmark this page (with thumbnail)", or press Alt+Shift+D • No thumbnail yet? Bookmark Canvas shows the site's own preview image (the one you'd see if the link were shared), and falls back to a colored letter tile, so the grid never has blank holes • Bookmarks whose title is blank or just the site's name get a more descriptive title looked up from the page, and search uses it too • Refresh one card, one folder, or everything with "Update All Thumbnails" • Bot-check pages ("Verify you are human") are detected, so a challenge screen never replaces a good thumbnail
YOUR FOLDERS, AS TABS • Your existing bookmark folders appear down the side, nested subfolders and all, with a count on each • Create folders and subfolders, rename them by double-clicking, delete them, and drag folders to reorder or nest them • Color-code the folders you use most • Resize the sidebar, or collapse it to a slim rail of color dots to give the grid more room • Changes made in Chrome's own bookmark manager show up right away, and the other way around
FIND AND MANAGE • Search across every folder by title, address, or the improved title • Sort by Chrome's own order, name (A–Z), date added, or grouped by site • Card-size slider from a dense grid to large previews • Select several cards with the select button or by dragging a box around them, then drag them into a folder together • Remove a bookmark with one click, or open one in a new tab with a middle-click • Dark and light modes
REDISCOVER WHAT YOU FORGOT YOU SAVED A bookmark folder can turn into a graveyard. Click Rediscover to see a handful of bookmarks you haven't opened in a while. Use the arrow next to it to choose 1+ month, 3+ months, 6+ months or 1+ year, and hit Shuffle for a fresh set. Each card shows how long it has been since you last opened it.
BACK UP YOUR THUMBNAILS "Backup Thumbnails" (bottom-left) saves your thumbnails to a single file you can load on another computer or after a reinstall. Before anything is imported you see a preview: how many thumbnails are new, how many replace older ones, and how many are kept because yours are newer. Importing never deletes anything, and the file stays wherever you save it.
STANDARD + POSITIONING Adds free-form card positioning (pin cards exactly where you want them in a folder) and five color themes: Beach, Forest, Glacial, Shadow and Pink.
TRY IT FREE FOR 7 DAYS Then Standard is a one-time $2.99, and Standard + Positioning is $4.99. No subscription. If your trial ends, you can still export all your thumbnails before deciding.
EVERYTHING STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE No server, no account, no analytics. Thumbnails, folder colors and preferences are stored locally in your browser and removed when you uninstall; your bookmarks themselves stay in Chrome. The only network requests are to the sites you've bookmarked (to fetch a preview image), Google Fonts, and Gumroad to verify a license key. Full details in the privacy policy.
