The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About BG Remover – AI Background Remover
Remove image backgrounds quickly with AI, directly from your Chrome browser.
BG Remover is an easy-to-use image background remover with two processing options: private offline processing that runs on your device, and optional cloud processing using your own API key.
Key features
• AI-powered image background removal
• Offline processing with a bundled AI model
• Optional cloud processing with your own API key
• Batch processing for multiple images
• Transparent PNG export
• Replace removed backgrounds with solid colors or preset backgrounds
• Before-and-after preview
• Zoom and inspect image results
• Download individual results or multiple images as a ZIP
• Supports common image formats
Offline Mode
In Offline Mode, image processing runs locally in your browser using the bundled AI model. Images do not need to be uploaded to a remote image-processing service.
Cloud Mode
Cloud Mode is optional. When enabled, your selected image is sent to the configured image-processing provider for background removal. You can use your own supported API key.
API keys
API keys are stored locally in Chrome storage and are used only when you choose Cloud Mode.
No account is required to use Offline Mode.
Use BG Remover for product photos, profile pictures, social media graphics, e-commerce images, presentations, and everyday image editing.
Permissions
Storage permission is used to save extension settings and locally configured API keys.
Access to supported image-processing API domains is used only when Cloud Mode is selected and an image is submitted for processing.
