Make the Subbook shift board work for you... Bettersubbook is a free Chrome extension for University of Illinois Campus Recreation Aquatics staff. It adds search, sorting and filters to Subbook's list of open shifts, reads your own schedule so it knows what you're free for, and fills in the Add Request form for you. You always press Subbook's own Submit button yourself. UNOFFICIAL: Bettersubbook is an independent project. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Subbook, Campus Recreation or the University of Illinois. FEATURES • Search, sort and filter the shift list Find the shifts you actually want. Sort by what fits you best, narrow by role, and hide what you don't need, right on the Unfilled Requests page. • Your schedule, understood Bring your calendar in and Bettersubbook picks out your shifts and in-services, and keeps classes and meetings as busy time. Nothing becomes a shift until you approve it on the Review tab. • Autofill, with a confirmation Press Autofill on a shift and the Add Request form is filled in. You see exactly what was filled, then submit it yourself. Bettersubbook never submits a request for you. • Free-time aware See which open shifts fit around your classes. Add your own blocked time, or open the desktop calendar for a full week view. • Make it yours Dark mode, accent colors, fonts, text size, and optional animated scenes (Sky, Space and Water) for the Subbook page. Turn effects off any time if you want a plain table. • Optional live weather The Sky scene can follow real weather for a city you choose. It's off until you turn it on and agree to what's sent. BRINGING YOUR SCHEDULE IN (no account needed) • Import a file: .ics, a Google Calendar .zip, or a .csv. • Paste a calendar link: a published .ics address, refreshed every hour. Works with Outlook, Google and Apple calendars, and when your school blocks apps from reading calendars. • Link Outlook / Microsoft 365 or Google Calendar with a read-only sign-in. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No account, no server, no ads, no analytics. • Your shifts and calendar stay in your browser's local storage and are never sent to the developer. • Calendar access is read-only.
