About Barking Hound SEO Sniffer
Barking Hound is an SEO crawler that runs inside Chrome. Give it a URL and it crawls the site the way a search engine would, then tells you what is wrong, which pages it affects, and what to do about each one.
A crawl hands most tools thousands of rows. Barking Hound ranks the few things worth fixing by what they cost you, with the pages and files named.
What it checks
• Broken links and files, redirects and redirect chains, status codes
• Titles, descriptions and headings that don't mention what the page is about
• Pages competing for the same search, near-duplicates and thin pages
• Orphan pages, click depth and internal link opportunities, with a crawl map
• Structured data, checked against what Google shows today
• Local business checks: business markup, addresses, tappable phone links, and area pages that are one page with the town swapped
• Speed, accessibility, trust signals and AI-written content
• Search Console import and competitor comparison
What you hand a client
• A branded client report
• A proposal that sets out the work and the order it happens in
• A data pack and CSV exports of every table
Nothing leaves your browser
Your crawls, results and settings stay on your computer. There is no account, and nothing you crawl is sent to us. Once a day the extension asks our license server whether your license was refunded, using two short references from the key. Site access is requested when you start a crawl, for that site only. The one optional exception: if you ask competitor mode how old each domain is, the domain names are looked up at rdap.org. Installing the extension asks for no site access at all.
License required
Barking Hound needs a license key to crawl. One license covers every feature, including the client report, the proposal, the data pack, CSV exports, competitor mode and recheck, up to 25,000 URLs a crawl. Licenses are sold at barkinghound.net.
Three paid recommendations
Three cards recommend products we earn a commission on: a local SEO platform and a link exchange network on the Local SEO tab, and a website builder on the Proposal tab. Each is labeled, can be turned off for good, and never appears in anything you hand a client.
