The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Badam HeadMod
Badam HeadMod is a lightweight, fully transparent header-modification tool for developers, QA engineers, and anyone who needs to test how a site behaves under different requests — without installing a closed-source extension of unknown provenance.
WHAT IT DOES
Every rule you create is applied locally by Chrome's own declarativeNetRequest engine — this extension never proxies, logs, or transmits your browsing traffic anywhere. There is no analytics, no telemetry, and no remotely-loaded code; everything you can see in the popup and options page is everything the extension does.
FEATURES
- Add, modify, append, or remove any request or response header, scoped to a URL pattern or applied everywhere
- One-click checklist of the actual request headers sent for the current page, so you can remove any of them and reload instantly
- Keep JavaScript's navigator.userAgent and navigator.userAgentData in sync with a User-Agent header rule, so a page's JS and its network requests always agree
- An optional strict mode (chrome.debugger) for a zero-race User-Agent override, for pages that check navigator.userAgent before the page has fully loaded
- View and clear cookies for the current site with one click, or clear cookies across all sites from the options page
- Export and import your rule set as JSON for backup or to move between machines
- A single master switch to disable every rule at once without deleting them
WHY IT'S DIFFERENT
No bundler, no minified blob, no third-party dependency — the entire source is plain, readable JavaScript and HTML. Permissions are scoped to exactly what each feature needs, and each one is explained in this listing's permission justifications.
