About AWS Login Helper - SSO Multi Session
AWS Login Helper (Chrome) – Multi-Session Manager for AWS SSO / IAM Identity Center (IIC)
Tired of the friction of managing multiple AWS cloud accounts, IAM roles, and environments? AWS Login Helper makes switching roles effortless, fast, secure, and frustration-free.
Sign in to your AWS IAM Identity Center (IIC) access portal just once. From then on, every AWS IAM role and account opens instantly in its own separate, fully isolated Chrome window—already signed in, with zero re-authenticating and no tedious context switching.
Important Note: AWS Login Helper is designed exclusively for AWS IAM Identity Center (IIC) SSO. It does not support standard SAML SSO or legacy federation workflows.
Why AWS Login Helper Beats Native AWS Multi-Session Support
If you have used native AWS Multi-Session Support, you know its frustrating bottlenecks. Switching roles and managing accounts manually is tedious—AWS Login Helper removes this hassle entirely for modern cloud workflows:
No Account Limits: Native AWS Multi-Session Support caps you at a strict limit of 5 different identities simultaneously. AWS Login Helper lets you open and manage unlimited concurrent AWS accounts and roles at the same time.
Zero Re-Authentication Required: With native multi-session, you still have to go through the authentication flow for each individual account or IAM role. With AWS Login Helper, you sign in to your access portal once, and every subsequent role launches fully authenticated instantly.
Effortless Role Switching: Switching roles between environments is super easy and no longer a tedious chore. Jump between Development, Staging, and Production identities with a single click.
True Session Isolation: Each account gets its own dedicated Chrome profile and cookie jar. Your cloud sessions never bleed into each other, eliminating accidental commands in the wrong production environment.
Key Features
One AWS Login, Every Account: Click the isolated session link added directly next to any account or IAM role on your AWS access portal (awsapps page) to open it instantly.
Visual Environment Banners: Color-code your AWS Management Console headers based on your environment (e.g., bright red for Production, green for Development, blue for Staging) to immediately recognize which account you are working in.
Session Expiry at a Glance: See exactly how much time is left on your AWS SSO session and active console sessions right on the page.
No Manual Profile Switching: Skip Chrome’s built-in profile manager. The extension handles creating, switching, and launching isolated browser profiles for you automatically.
Clean Up Anytime: Easily manage and remove old isolated account profiles directly from the extension's options page.
How It Works
Sign In Once: Authenticate into your AWS IAM Identity Center (IIC) portal as you normally do.
Click to Isolate: The extension seamlessly integrates into your portal by adding a custom -Isolated (Window) link next to standard account role URLs.
Instant Launch: Click the link to open that specific AWS IAM role in a dedicated, isolated Chrome window complete with custom color banners.
(Note: The first click after a reboot may take a couple of seconds to cold-start the secure companion process; every click after that is lightning-fast.)
Setup Requirements
This extension requires the free, lightweight AWS Login Helper companion app (a simple per-user installer that requires no admin rights or UAC prompts):
Install the Extension from the Chrome Web Store.
