The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About AudioFence
Some websites play sound you can't hear.
A hidden audio stream can keep your speakers or Bluetooth headphones busy (breaking multipoint pairing), and "audio fingerprinting" renders sound off-screen and measures tiny differences in how your device produces it — building a tracking ID without any cookies. Browsers don't show you any of this, and tab-mute doesn't stop it.
AudioFence puts a guard between websites and your audio device:
• SEE — a simple panel shows every audio source on the current page, in plain language. No jargon required; technical details are one click away for the curious.
• DETECT — seven signals spot the classic abuse patterns: silent streams held at zero volume, off-screen audio rendering, fingerprint readbacks, audio starting before you interact, and more.
• BLOCK — flip on Protection and AudioFence automatically suspends hidden or fingerprinting audio before it plays. Trust sites you choose; block everywhere else by default.
Privacy: AudioFence does all analysis locally in your browser. No accounts, no analytics, no servers — nothing ever leaves your machine.
