The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Attention Gatekeeper
Your browser just gained a bouncer.
Attention Gatekeeper steps in front of the sites that steal your focus.
Open a gated site and it asks one question: why do you want to open that?
Tell the judge your reason in a single line. It weighs what you say against
what you actually do — how many times you've come back today, how many
minutes you've already been granted, how long it's been since your last
pass — and it decides:
• APPROVED: you get a time-boxed pass (the model never grants more than you
asked for). When the pass expires, the gate is back.
• DENIED: you stay out, with a verdict you'll remember.
The judge has a personality. Today it's snarky. Supportive, dry and
ruthless join the roster later.
BUILT FOR PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEY'LL OPEN "ONE LAST TAB"
• Time-boxed passes — approved is never "forever".
• Behavioral memory — it judges your patterns, not just your wording.
• Your sites, your rules — gate any site (subdomains included) from the
toolbar popup or the dashboard. Strictness runs from gentle to strict.
• Never trapped — if the judge is unreachable, you choose: a short
automatic pass, or stay blocked. There's always a "go back".
• Daily scoreboard — attempts, approvals, denied escapes, minutes granted.
• Local-first — your settings and stats live on your device.
