Read-only, by design Ashesi Canvas Digest does not submit assignments, post replies, mark Canvas messages as read, or change your Canvas settings. Checking off a task inside the extension records your personal progress only. It is not a Canvas submission. AI is optional — and off by default Optional AI tools can help explain material, generate practice questions and suggest checklists using sources you choose. AI features remain off until you enable them. Inbox analysis requires separate permission, and you can inspect the excerpts before they are sent for analysis. AI-generated answers are grounded in the source material provided to them. Your lecturer’s original instructions and official Canvas content always remain the authority. Your data stays with you Your tasks, notes, bookmarks and review schedules are stored in your browser and associated with your Canvas account. No separate sign-up. No advertising. No analytics. No tracking. Nothing sold. There is no cross-device sync. You can export or delete your stored data whenever you want from Settings. Good to know • Designed specifically for ashesi.instructure.com and uses the Canvas session you’re already signed into. • Requires Chrome 116 or later. • PDF text is extracted locally from up to the first 30 pages. Scanned PDFs without a text layer require OCR-capable software. • AI analysis uses a shared free daily allowance. • Reminders require Chrome to be running and notification permission is requested only when you enable them.
