The Chrome Web Store rounds user counts down to the leading digit, so the user line moves in steps. The ratings count is exact and is the better signal of real adoption.
About Aperture Core
Aperture Core turns your new tab into a calm search starting point and keeps your saved websites within easy reach.
Web search and your personal library
A centered search field, compact favorites shelf, and same-tab website library keep everyday actions together. Choose Browser default, Google, Microsoft Bing, DuckDuckGo, or Baidu. Your choice stays on this device and is shared with Quick Search without changing the address bar’s default engine. Drag favorites to reorder them, or use move-earlier/move-later controls; your manual order persists.
Keyboard-first Quick Search
Invoke the launcher over a webpage, select with arrow keys, press Enter to open, or Shift + Enter to edit a saved website. Search supports Chinese, full Pinyin, Pinyin initials, word initials, and conservative fuzzy matching, with highlighted matches and relevant field excerpts. Optionally search open-tab titles and URLs without reading page content.
Real suggestions, your choice
By default, suggestions use only searches you actually submitted locally, never invented completions. If you explicitly enable online suggestions and grant the optional permission, typed new-tab queries go directly to Microsoft Bing for suggestions. Their source is clearly labeled and independent of the final search engine. Launcher and library matching stay local; incognito does not send online suggestion requests. Address and identifier filtering is best-effort: use local mode for private or internal queries.
Organize your websites
Save names, URLs, categories, purposes, aliases, tags, access requirements, and notes. Import browser bookmarks with their folder hierarchy, organize multiple records, back up locally, and customize a validated JSON search strategy. Includes Simplified Chinese, English, and Hungarian, plus light, dark, and system themes.
Local-first privacy
Website records, settings, favorite order, and search history stay in local browser storage. No cloud account, ads, tracking, telemetry, or developer data server. The extension does not read browsing history, cookies, passwords, or page content. Submitted web queries go to your selected engine; enabled online suggestions also send typed queries to Bing. Receiving services see network information such as your IP and apply their own policies. The developer does not receive queries, and your saved library and history collection are not uploaded.
