Alt Text Creator

Alt Text Creator helps you write image descriptions while composing a social media post. On a supported site, open the image's description dialog and click Create Alt Text. You get a draft to review and edit before saving it to your post. These descriptions help people who use screen readers understand what is in an image. If you want a separate copy, you can enable copying to the clipboard in Settings. Getting started 1. Open Settings from the extension icon. 2. Choose an AI provider, enter the matching API key, and save. 3. Upload an image on a supported site and open its description dialog. 4. Generate a draft, check the details, and save. The extension is free to install. Generation requires your own provider key or a key for the paid hosted service. With your own key, your provider's usage charges apply. Your key is stored locally in Chrome. To generate a description, the image is sent to the provider you selected. That provider's data-handling policies apply. Hosted processing is covered by the Altkit privacy policy. AI can miss details or misread text. Check names, numbers, and anything else that matters before posting.
