Allowly Data Redactor holds a PDF attachment before the supported ChatGPT uploader receives it. It sends the original to your configured redaction service, waits for cleaning, and attaches the returned redacted.pdf. Send and Enter stay paused while a file is waiting or being cleaned. If the service is busy, the extension retries automatically. You can cancel the held attachment. If cleaning fails, the original stays held and you can retry or cancel. Standalone setup uses the included Allowly HTTPS pilot endpoint and a service token from its operator. It is for fictional test documents and may be offline between demos. An organization can use its own supported redaction deployment through managed setup. Managed Chrome installations receive the approved rule and service endpoint from an Allowly Enterprise workspace. Local settings cannot override managed policy. The supplied GLiNER service supports defined categories such as personal information, company names and budget information. It also applies baseline email, US phone, US Social Security number and valid payment-card patterns. Unknown or complex removal rules block the file. Detection can miss information or remove unrelated text; review the cleaned PDF before sharing. The Base model passed 4 of 8 frozen quality cases in the current demo checks. Supported input is one text-based PDF, up to 10 MiB and 30 pages. Scans, image pages, forms, encrypted or damaged PDFs and unsupported structures are blocked. The cleaned PDF contains page images. Search, copy and accessibility text are lost. Word, Excel, OCR and prompt-text cleaning are not implemented. The configured redaction service receives the original PDF. Its private model processes page text and the supported rule. The supplied inference path does not call a cloud AI API. Managed policy sync sends rule and installation status to Allowly, without PDF content. After successful cleaning, the supported website receives the cleaned copy through its normal uploader. Chrome 116 or later is required. This extension covers its supported ChatGPT upload paths. Other websites, browsers, desktop apps and unmanaged routes need separate controls. Managed setup uses IT enrollment; employee SSO is not connected. Support: support@allowly.ai
