About Accesserty DevCheck: Accessibility Checker

Accesserty DevCheck checks accessibility on the page you are actually reviewing: a staging build, a signed-in view, a CMS preview, localhost, or a local PDF. Everything except the optional AI Check runs in your browser. Made for anyone who reviews pages before release: designers, PMs, QA, content editors, and engineers. No account and no accessibility background needed. Try it first on the practice page, a fictional demo with deliberate issues and a one-click fix: https://accesserty.com/en/devcheck-practice/ SCAN THE PAGE • Run automated axe-core checks for WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A/AA rules plus best practices. They find issues a machine can detect; AAA is not checked in full. • See confirmed issues separately from items that need a person to judge, jump to each affected element, and copy a text summary into your own issue tracker. SEE THE STRUCTURE Review lenses draw the page's structure on top of it, so you can judge it yourself: • Focus Path: keyboard focus order with numbered markers and hints for possible jumps. • Headings: the h1–h6 outline, including headings only screen readers hear. • Landmarks: header, nav, main and other regions, with hints for missing or duplicated ones. • Accessible names: hover or Tab to an element to see its role, name, and where the name comes from. • Reading preview: the page in reading order, read aloud with your device's own voices. • Forms: labels, descriptions and error messages connected to each field. "Try submitting" watches how the page reports errors after you press its own submit button. DevCheck never submits a form itself. • Stop motion: pauses animations and video, then marks what still moves. EXPERIENCE THE BARRIERS • Color vision differences, low vision, visual field loss, text spacing, dyslexia-like reading difficulty, and touch target conflicts. • A screen magnifier (×2, ×3, ×4) that follows your mouse and keyboard focus. • Hand tremor: the cursor shakes and clicks land where it shakes, so small or crowded targets get missed. A panel counts the misses. • Silent mode: mutes the tab, tells you each time the page makes a sound, and lists media without captions. CHECK PDFS • Check a local PDF for document language, tags, bookmarks, links, images and form fields. The file never leaves your device. Results are structure signals, not PDF/UA conformance. AI CHECK (OPTIONAL) • Review link purpose, language marking and image alt text quality, with suggested alt text. WHAT DEVCHECK IS NOT DevCheck does not replace manual review or testing with assistive technology. Orange marks are things to review, not confirmed WCAG failures. It helps you find common issues earlier and discuss them with concrete context. PRIVACY Scans, review lenses, simulations and PDF checks run locally and send nothing. The reading preview uses only voices installed on your device. AI Check runs only when you start it. It sends a bounded sample of visible text, link names (which can include visually hidden accessible names and CSS-clipped text), and images the page allows the extension to read to Google Gemini. With your own Gemini API key, the sample goes directly to Google. Without one, it goes through Accesserty's free proxy, which also receives a random installation ID and derives an IP hash to enforce daily limits. Content inside open shadow roots is included, but AI Check does not traverse frames or closed shadow roots. DevCheck does not send the full page, browsing history, form values, PDF files or scan results, and it omits dedicated URL fields, though URLs inside sampled content may still be sent. Under Google's unpaid-service terms, inputs and outputs may be used to improve Google's products and may be seen by human reviewers, so do not submit confidential, unauthorized or personal content to AI Check. Terms: https://ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms Reports you copy or download are created locally and may include the page URL and sampled text. PRICE All local tools are free. Shared AI Check has daily and rate limits; your own key follows Google's quotas and pricing. Learn more: https://accesserty.com/en/devcheck/ Privacy policy: https://accesserty.com/en/privacy/
