About a11y Audit
a11y Audit checks the page you are looking at against WCAG 2.2 at level A, AA or AAA. It runs inside your browser and never sends the page, its address or the results anywhere.
Click the toolbar icon to open the side panel, then press "Scan this page". The scan runs axe-core 4.9.1 on the rendered page, so it covers content built by JavaScript and open shadow DOM.
WHAT YOU GET
- Findings ranked by severity, with "needs review" items kept separate for the cases a person has to judge.
- Grouping by category, WCAG criterion or severity, plus search and severity filters.
- For each finding: the WCAG criterion, the rule, how to fix it, the element's HTML and a link to the rule's documentation.
- The React, Vue or Angular component the element belongs to, when the page exposes it.
- Hover a finding to outline the element on the page. "Show on page" scrolls to it and "Copy selector" copies its CSS selector.
SEE THE PAGE AS OTHERS DO
Preview the page under 11 vision conditions: red, green and blue colour-vision deficiencies, no colour vision, blur, reduced contrast, cataracts, tunnel vision and central vision loss.
REPORTS
Export the audit as a PDF for your team, or as Markdown to paste into an issue or an AI assistant. Both files are created on your computer.
SINGLE-PAGE APPS
The panel notices when the route or page changes after a scan and offers to re-scan, so you are not reading stale results.
LIGHT AND DARK
The panel follows your system theme. You can also set it to light or dark.
PRIVACY
Everything runs locally. The extension makes no network requests and has no account and no analytics. It asks for access to pages only so it can run the audit on the tab you scan.
