About [100% Free] WhatsApp Web Privacy Blur for Screen Sharing, Recording
[100% Free] Blur WhatsApp Web privacy content before screen sharing and recording
WhatsApp Privacy adds an adjustable visual blur layer to WhatsApp Web in your browser. It helps reduce accidental exposure of messages, contact names, avatars, and media when you share your screen, record a demo, present in a meeting, or work in a shared space.
Useful scenarios
• Meetings and screen sharing: blur chat content before sharing a browser window or desktop.
• Product demos and tutorial recordings: hide real conversations that are not part of the walkthrough.
• Offices and shared spaces: reduce casual visibility on projected screens or nearby monitors.
• Temporary checks: keep blur on, then reveal a specific area on hover and blur it again when the mouse leaves.
Controls
Chat list: last message preview, contact and group names, profile pictures.
Chat window: current messages, media previews, media gallery, and text being typed in the input box.
Global controls: one main on/off switch, hover reveal, immediate apply without transition delay, 1–40 pixel blur strength, temporary reveal when the mouse enters WhatsApp Web, and one-click restore defaults.
How to use
1. Open `https://web.whatsapp.com/` and wait for the page to load normally.
2. Open the extension and choose the chat list or chat window areas to blur.
3. Adjust blur strength and enable hover reveal if needed.
4. Start your screen share, meeting, demo, or recording.
5. When finished, turn off the main switch or restore defaults.
If WhatsApp Web is already open, the extension focuses the existing tab. It opens a new WhatsApp Web tab only when no matching page exists. Clicking the extension icon alone does not rewrite any other page you are using.
Local processing and permissions
Blur is applied with local CSS visual layers in the browser. Settings are saved in Chrome local storage. The extension does not create export files or upload chat history to Web Tidy. It only requests storage for settings and access to `https://web.whatsapp.com/` to apply visual blur. It does not require a Web Tidy account, read WhatsApp cookies, login tokens, passwords, or QR codes, send messages, export contacts, or export chat history.
Page changes and limits
When WhatsApp Web updates or you switch chats, the extension checks the page and reapplies selected blur settings. If the page is not open, still loading, or an element cannot be recognized temporarily, it asks you to open, wait, or refresh.
Visual blur reduces accidental on-screen exposure. It is not encryption, access control, a device lock, notification hiding, or screenshot protection. Someone with device control or page-modification access may still turn off the extension or view original content. Check the hidden areas before sharing or recording.
WhatsApp Privacy does not provide bulk messaging, auto-replies, CRM sync, message automation, contact export, or chat backup features. Web Tidy is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.
