hi, could u add the chinese language?
@abc I will add chinese as well as few other languages in the next version.
Excellent job. =D
nice. It works well and does what it’s supposed to do. I like this extension.
@thedeadly91
Best would be an options menu where users could select the language pairs, I think.
Anyway… gr8 extension! Can’t imagine that you are new to JavaScript. 5/5!
I am glad that you guys like it.
@The Truth
The popup lets the user to choose the language that the page is translated to. The language that is translated from is automatically chosen. I am now working (slowly) on options page, that will allow the user to choose which languages are shown in the popup.
Edit: Version 1.5 is out and it include this options page
Can you add Danish?
On both XP Pro SP3 and Ubuntu 9.10, every time I bring up Chrome 4.0.249.11, the options page for this extension pops up in a new tab. This is quite annoying. If I do not see any upgrade fixing this soon, I’ll probably uninstall it.
Lester
i have updated, think u very much!
@thedeadly91
I quite like this extension,but for one thing.
I use Chromes customized “Application Shortcuts” quite a lot. Now everytime I launch the ‘first’ google chrome process, it shows up an other chrome windows showing “Google Translate Simple Extension Options”. It’s not necessary, don’t you think? It also slows down the speed chrome launchs.
very nice extension
I think there was a typo in my email, so this was not posted:

On both XP Pro SP3 and Ubuntu 9.10, both with Chrome 4.0.249.11, after installing 1.5, whenever Chrome is started up, a new tab with the GTS options comes up too. That options page has what I first set and is unnecessary and annoying to have it comes up each time I (re)start Chrome. I have this extension disabled for now on both machines. Are there plans to change this misbehavior?
Thanks.
Lester
@ingber The extension shouldn’t behave this way. It should instead open up the options only if u haven’t set up your languages. I will investigate this and if i can’t find where the problem is,I will remove the automatic tab opening.
Thanks for the feedback.
Edit: Version 1.6 is out. I have removed the automatic tab opening,added new languages and also increased the performance a bit. Feedback and comments are welcome
@TheDeadly91:
Thanks for considering this issue.
Lester
@TheDeadly91:
Thanks for 1.6! This is very useful for full pages, and together with the Bubble Translate extension for small sections of text, I can access info easier than by just using translate.google.com. I give this 5/5.
Lester
@ Mads I have added Danish
@ with0out If i understood you correctly, I think this issue is fixed. Try v1.7 and see if the problem still exists.
how come there is no hebrew? if there is right-to-left support for semitic languages like arabic then hebrew shouldn’t be that difficult to add either…
Incluam, por favor, o idioma português brasileiro nas opções.
Can you add dutch please?
No chinese,It is a pity.My website:www.4yummy.com
