Developer Builds (Linux)
Adds an ability to perform a quick search on different sites like Wikipedia, Yahoo, Amazon etc…
QuickSearch allows you to provide search on differents sites right from the browser without additional steps, just select search engine, type the keywords and press Enter, search results will be opened in the new tab of the browser.
If compare with the standard omni bar, QuickSearch has the following advantages:

Address bar already do that with a keyword, isn’t it?
hoping to see other search engines in this along with an options page to enable/disable engines based on personal preferences
There should be an option to add more search engines!
Hi,
Will the next version allow to modify the address of sites? (Ex: amazon.fr)
sorry for my english, reverso translation
2 Incognito: I don’t know such functionality, I think it is simplier and habitual to do as I suggest.
2 Quack: Sure, will be implemented in future versions, and even some more improvements I plan, stay tuned.
2 hizoka, Yes it will be possible.
I don’t see the point of this extension, because I already can search with the Omnibar, and if I want to add another search engine I just press Rigth-Click over the Omnibar -> “Edit Search Engine…”.
I see the following advantages if compare with the standard omni bar:
1. You should not type keyword, just click the icon
2. Search results are opening in the new window
3. It is more intuitive for ordinary users.
In plans:
3. Multi-search
4. Keyboard Shortcuts
5. Search results right in the extension area.
You can also suggest more features if you like.
@eso: This extensions saves A LOT of time.
Romsin, I love your idea of opening it in a new tab.
Should you add new search engines, could you add the option to select which will show you click the button? That would save the time of searching for the icon you want…
T.F., thanks for positive feedback, search engines will be added soon, and they will be customizible. Can you clarify what do you mean by the “the option to select which will show you click the button”?
How about automatically inserting the selected text ?
Select the text you want to search
Click the Search-extension button
Show the text area with the text already there
Search with your prefered search engine
@romison:
There’s already a way to manage search engines (Options > Basic > Default Search > Manage). Could you add a way to use engines added to that list?
Being able to use your extension with selected text would be a godsend, especially it looks like the basic Chrome search function doesn’t seem to use engines added via that dialog.
Version 0.2 is released. Thanks to all for the feedback, suggestions and critics.
Very good extension, and the feedback response is always appreciated =)
I don’t see how this is useful. Typing the first (two) letter(s) of the site you want to search, then tab, then keyword. This is already made more intuitive in Chrome’s daily builds as it indicates “press tab to search on sitename”, too.
There are some sites that don’t allow you to search from the omnibar
The next version will allow to supr sites default ? (ebay…)
and choice image for site customize ?
think’s !!!
2hizoka, currently last used search engine is saved, next time you open the extension the previously used engine is selected, what do you mean by default site? As for images, the predefined engines have permanent images, and for your custom sites the favicons are downloading from them.
Okay, now, two more additions to be perfect: Being able to REMOVE from the list and of sorting them out (manually takes priority, but some automatic, like per date of inclusion and alphabetically would be good too).
I think that Hizoka wants to delete some of the defalut sites from the list, like eBay.
You can customize the search engines. This gets an A+ grade from me. =D Good job!
WHy not add the function to the right-click context menu?
Good job indeed, as other said above, it would be effective and perfect is you give it the option to us the user change the searchers engine as desired(this and and a download manager addon like download helper for chrome would do it for me, since these are the stuff that keep me off from using chrome as my main browser) but thanks to you sir, i got one resolved, thanks a lot.
When will be the next update coming¿?
