Bug fixes
Nice! Thanks
I’m not exactly sure how to use this. Do you just click on the text box and select a symbol? If so, it doesn’t work. I’ve tested it in this text box and on Facebook. Am I doin’ it wrong?
Nice extension & good find.
I hope you continue adding other characters soon…
I posted about it here: http://www.chromeplugins.org/google/chrome-talk/test-glyphs-extension-8895.html#post19990
appreciate a “thumbs up” symbol;
would it be possible for the symbols to be in colour ?
sulasno: What did you mean “in colour”?
Luc VN: What characters you want to see?
I like it ! ☺
Nice but where’s double dagger? D:
Alt + 0135… I use it a lot…

can the symbols be in colours rather than in black and white?
can we add our symbols ?
I took a peep at popup.html and was wondering whether I could add some similes stored on a server
Make a hotkey!
Doesn’t work with the official Google Chrome help forum. Can you fix it?
it works fine, sometime we have to refresh the website after the installation.. ☺☻♫♫⅞⅝♣♣
It crashes everytime with Google Chrome 4.0.249.22 in Linux (specifically Ubuntu 9.10; kernel 2.6.31-16)
I have a feeling this only works in Windows since the method to add special characters is different from that of other systems.
I think in Windows you use ALT+
whereas in Linux its CTRL+SHIFT+
ex: ® = CTRL+SHIFT+00AE
or Ç = CTRL+SHIFT+00C7
or あ = CTRL+SHIFT+3042 (Hirigana letter “A”)
So, if that was the case, it would be nice to implement the unicoded method.
good work, but Its not working on my Chromium (4.0.266.0 (Ubuntu build 33943))
Its interesting, but it would be much better if it was editable (so users could add their own characters, or any lumps of text)
Currently to use you have to cut the characters from the page it prompts btw
this would be better if they were buttons, and inserted the char where your cursor bar is (the flashy line after text as you type)
BloodyT: It works exactly as you say now. Just update extension and look into options page.
oh I didnt see that XD nice
another suggestion is icons (what you want it to show, then what it prints)
so if you wanted it to add a large chunk of text, you wouldnt see said text pile when you click it, rather your short descrip of the textpile
what i meant by the above, is it would be nice to add smileys to the bar, ect
BloodyT: you can also add multiple symbols at a time.
im aware of that, but lets say i wanted to add a smiley to it: http://www.smileyicon.net/smiley-icon-5.jpg
now when I open the menue, i see a long url (instead of just the smiley)
although this wouldnt work on all sites (forums that dont support html in post), its basically what im looking for
To solve this problem, there could be a second section, 1 for how it apears in the menue (which would be just the smiley pic, or a special char (via link))
and the second would be what is actually pasted, (so you can have large quantities of text, ;like links, on speed paste (via 1 click), without having the actual text visible when in the menue
how to add similes ?
does it support unicode ?
&©®€♥♠
smileys are not actually characters… there links to tiny pictures…
it does technically support it, but it would look bad if you were to add em
I think this extension does not work with https sites
sulasno: Yes it is. I’ll add https support soon
doesnt it just paste whatever is between the (enters) when you hit it,
there should be a way to shorten it so its more practical to paste links
maybe if there is a “|” in the message, it post everything before it in the glymph page as the button, and everything after it, is pasted when the button is pressed.
oh and http detection would be awsome, so you could make the “button” text a picture
and on a minor note, care to make the main icon light blue (the color of default theme) with darkblue outine
google should hard code in an option to ‘match’ icons, aka converts to black and white, then sets the hue to fit with your theme.
instead of ‘description’ it could be what is pasted when you have a ,
button , this is whats pasted onto the page
BloodyT: Now can insert html-entities with Ctrl key. Update at https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/ahacemacibfdfgdfeonaobmhnocipggn
thanks for the update
on my way
