How to use flv_download
Click on the button to download the flv video of the currently active tab.
An orange badge is shown when a known site is detected (you can still try the generic downloader on other sites).
List of supported sites below, if you need another site supported, open a new proposal issue (see menu above), I’ll do my best 
Options
The options allow to choose between three download modes:
- I’m feeling lucky, which will always download automatically the first video found;
- Automatic, which will do the same if only one video is found, or create download links at the top of the page if several are found;
- Inline links, which will always create download links for found videos.

How to heck do you download this?!
Yep, I’m not seeing an “add to chrome” button for this extension. It sounds like just what I want but there’s no download for it.
Managed to get it installed by going to your side, downloading the crx, then drag-dropping the crx onto a chrome window. Phew, not straightforward.
Tried it with youtube, unfortunately this extension doesn’t save the name of the video.

It’s not working with new Youtube layout
It just says “working”?
It sounds promising, exactly what i was looking for, BUT it doesnt work, if i go to any youtube video, i see OK on the button but when i press it nothing happens and youtube skips to the next video :-S am i doing something wrong here??

When on a site, I click the download button (it says OK) then just opens the video in a new full screen. Where does it actually download the video to? I cant seem to find it on my HD? How does this work? Thanks

@Ciberbebeto : it uses the default download manager, so the downloads are where your Chrome downloads are…
@ASDA : which site? Depending on your settings and the web site it should :
- add download links to the page
or
- download the flv video (asking for a name)
or
- open the mp4 video (then File > Save as… will allow you to put it where you want).

after the “click to download” button, it saves as a file but opening the file won’t play the video. what should I do?
Did not work, dont get any icon for download. Tried it on wisewid http://www.wisevid.com/play?v=6tb8cwdbv-_c . the firefox downloader extension is so much easier to use.

sure, it installs fine in chrome – you see a nice icon. Visit a web site, and click on the icon, but nothing happens.
still waiting for anyone to create a video downloader for chrome that actually works – have tried many but no success. This is the reason still have to use firefox.
I downloaded this FLV player in the past. It runs great and I love how it runs in full screen and is adjustable like classic media player. But then I realized that Media Player for win7 was missing. This thing had deleted out my win7 (google and you will find others had the same problem). So I had to set windows 7 back an entire month before I installed it to get my Windows Media Player back on my computer which in exchanged deleted this software out. It should be removed from the list of plugins

Its a good thing that the developers are updating the extension frequently to support more sites. And its the only good alternative to firefox downloadhelper for now.
If downloadhelper is what keeps attached to firefox, give this a try. Still needs work to be as good as downloadhelper, but its getting to it
why do extensions need my browsing history and all website’s data?
This extension can access your browsing history and your data on all websites. May I ask why?

It just says ok, after clicking says “request sent…”, “receiving answer…” and that’s it…. nothing more, no new files, no download progress no nothing!

Doesn’t work. Shows you a “Download” link but doesn’t download the video when you left-click on it or right-click and “Save link as ..” either. Waste of time.
i have try to take flv from bliptv and metacafe but fail. it means there not showing any link.

This is what I need…although a slight problem will occur when a flash video is downloaded. The fl-video will be saved with no file extension, so I need to manually configure that it is a flv file by renaming it.
