This extension will automatically copy selected text to the computer's clipboard. This behavior is like Unix terminals, where selecting text also copies it.
There are options to:
- Enable/disable auto copying (enabled by default)
- Copy text inside textboxes (off by default)
- Remove the selection after copying (off by default)- Remove formatting from the selection - copy as simple text (off by default)

Change Log:

Copy with formatting stopped working in Chrome 6, so this option is now always set (since 1.3.2).

    this is all i needed. now that i’ve got Adblock+ working and Laspass running perfectly with enable databases. Autocopy is what i needed. i’ve already set Chrome as my default browser. i’ve been using Firefox since it was born. but hands down to chrome … its WAY WAY WAY FASTER ! the start up loading and also the browsing.

    is there a forum here :p …. i would like to make a request for some other addons. GreaseMonkey, Flashgot,

    Thank You for Auto Copy. Auto Copy should be implemented in Google Chrome by default. its a great handy feature ! who wants to press ctrl + c these days !

    Really nice addition. My netbook doesn’t have a middle mouse button, so I used to have to awkwardly click both of the buttons on either side of the track pad if I wanted to do a select copy. I can now easily copy something and paste with shift+ctrl+v instead of awkwardly pressing both the mouse buttons.

    My Chromium already does this, and has always done so. This has to be the cheapest extension ever!

    Is there a way to insert the copied text with the middle mouse button like it is available with the firefox extension?
