What a very useful extension! You deserve a round of applause. I really love this because I can just open up a little popup and don’t have to leave the page I am on. Thank you so much!

To those who want to bitch and complain, don’t use the extension. Nobody is forcing you to use it. If you don’t like it then move along.

The omnibar is not google search, you can select the default search engine in the options
(right click the addressbar –> Edit search engines)

This looks a lot like this :

If you don’t see the point in it don’t use it. Simple.

To all those who wanted auto focus on the text box when you opened it, the latest version of Chrome (4.0.49.11) fixes it.

Purpose for me is clear: a second, swiftly available search engine, next to the default one.

My default is Google Define:
google.com/search?defl=all&q=define:%s

which I have as default so I can select a term and read the definition in a new tab by clicking “Search Google Define for ‘…’ ” in the context menu, which I do a lot. And Cleeki doesn’t allow putting TheFreeDictionary in its standard menu, so this is ideal, and works like the Google Wave official “G+” button.

@davv: Control+Alt+F, isn’t that too much of a finger-strech? Maybe Shift+Alt+F then… Or something completely different.

The purpose is the when you search here you search inside the page, no going to Google.com instead it’s a little box that’s useful when you need something really quick and you want to stay on that page, no going to Google or opening a new tab. Instead all on the same page your working on.
