Like the new task list panel but how can I change this panel position ?
It’s floating over the FaceBook toolbar
Semi-Newb: You cannot position the panel differently yet, that is one of the next features I’ll add in over the next couple of days. I understand the facebook toolbar is quite a problem with this.
Thanks for the feedback.
Thanks, this is a fantastic plugin!
I noticed two bugs though:
1. The extension uses CSS from the page you’re on. This means that, whatever style the plugin’s “Tasks” title uses, it’s inherited from the site. This can mean that “Tasks” is black on black, centered, and so on…
2. Doesn’t work at all on sites with frames. Thankfully not that many sites use frames anymore.
Great, but I would like to see it more in the style that the one in Gmail is.
Hi there! Thanks for the exellent extension!
But can you create this extension as Browser Action like new GMail and Google Reader checker?
http://www.chromeextensions.org/alerts-updates/gmail-checker/ – link to new GMail checker
@Humpparitari – I have corrected some CSS issues in the newest version, however I do intend to look into this further to get the styling more consistant throughout. I was having issues with frames in that the extension was being injected into all frames, the best solution for the time is to disable it completely within frames however I will come back to improve frames support at a later date.
joestrong, a little bug when you open an image in browser windows: tasks is shown under image in “opened” view. You can check it, for example, open http://www.chromeextensions.org/wp-content/themes/chrome-extensions/images/logo.jpg with enabled extension.
Regards
Love it! Hope you can make one like this for Google Talk or Chat. Here is link what I want: http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client
I was bad, and just edited the contentscripts.js changed the “”https://mail.google.com/tasks/ig”>’);” to “src=”http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client”>’);” it works for one second only and then crashes
Thank you for this great tool.
If you running your tasks over Google Apps, it will be needed you change the contentscript.js which has a hardcoded task url.
1) Edit the contentscripts.js
\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\cfalmamgbiaipibeangdiekjodjjmndm.2.6\contentscripts.js
2) At line 10 replace the string:
https://mail.google.com/tasks/ig
with
https://mail.google.com/tasks/a//ig
And reload the extension
Worked fine for me.
oops.!!!
the correct url is:
https://mail.google.com/tasks/a/YOUR DOMAIN]/ig
e.g.:
https://mail.google.com/tasks/a/example.com/ig
Simple yet effective. I would just like to see one simple change. Can you change the button behaviour to automatically toggle the tasks widget on & off? Having to uncheck the box everytime to hide it is a little time consuming.
in incognito mode, can not control this plugin(
in incongnito mode you can’t control many plugins
I was going to say the same as Alsiladka [2 coments before this]
“Can you change the button behaviour to automatically toggle the tasks widget on & off? Having to uncheck the box everytime to hide it is a little time consumi”
When you click on the icon in the toolbar, there appears a thing to uncheck, it would be easier and faster if the same icon deactivated the task thing
extensions are not enabled ???
I am thinking about whether to have the task list open up in the bubble when clicking the extension icon, rather than it appearing at the bottom of the page as it does in GMail.
What are everyone’s thoughts?
This extension is incredibly useful! Thank you for creating it.
It probably would be better to have it appear when you single click on the extension icon, like the Gmail Checker. You can move the preferences to the Extensions Manager (just add an Options button). That way you can have a clean, easy to use interface for it.
Extension has been updated! Task list now appears in popout bubble from extension button. This is much more useful and less prone to bugs.
Adding a new list in .3 seems to be broken?
v. 0.3
GTask brakes, buggy, proposes, lagged
use v.0.2.6 !
i cann’t download 0.2.6… somehow loaded 0.1.5 (((
Great extension and with the update even more comfortable. Just a few ideas:
- the pop-up window “forgets” my settings. For example, if I change to deadline-view and I close the window, the next time when I open it, it is in the default position again. Even in the same session.
- maybe there is a problem with my display, but when I open the window it “flashes” once. When I click on the rolling menus it happens again.
And finally a question: is it possible somehow to change the starting day of the calendar in the deadline mode? I am used to the Sunday-style.
Otherwise one of the best extensions, simple and useful. Thank you very much!
I may have to revert back to having the task list appear at the bottom of the browser window. It seems that having it appear in the bubble prevents alert boxes and stops you adding or deleting lists.
Expect some upcoming updates
It’s been updated but now I can’t use it with my Google Apps account. Any ideas anyone or do I ditch it?
Thanks
Using 4.0.237.0 (Ubuntu build 31094) and Google-Tasks v3, when I press the tasks button it opens up a new window that has nothing but a white page.
Feature Idea:
- Do a parsing on the task so that we can do things like
‘pick up the milk tomorrow’ and the due date will be set to the day of tomorrow.
Suggested keyword ‘tomorrow, today, next week, next (day of week)’
Hi,
thanks for the plugin.
But I found two bugs.
On windows I can’t create new task list. When I need it, I have to go to gmail and create new list there.
Second one, is on Ubuntu 9.10 (chromium). When I click to icon – it align popup to left, not under icon.
Thanks, Oleg.
I’ve been looking for something like this for ages! Thanks!
Just one request, can you make it so that it is like in gmail? On the bottom right?
Maybe instead of having it next to the omnibox (its getting crowded up there) have it be a toolstrip that when you press it, the toolstrip disappears and the “gmail-like” task appears on the bottom right.
Then, if you close it, it goes back to being a toolstrip.
If you do that, that would be amazing.
Pedro, in previous versions I had the google tasks appear like in gmail. I moved it to the top in the latest version, however it doesn’t work properly in this position so I will be moving it back down you will be glad to hear. I will update the extension probably somepoint tomorrow.
MaEcTPo, your first problem will be fixed in the next update. Secondly this extension has not been tested for Linux, however your problem should be fixed at the same time as the other one.
Nice job, without bugs it is even better than next to the omnibox. I met only one small problem, when checking off and then on the extension the small icon does not change back its color from black and white. Otherwise great job, thank you very much!
OMG what have happen?
It’s now not an VERY nice addon with handy dropdown but a eyewinker
It’s at botton on page, showing all the time, closing for example, facebook taskbar etc.
Is it possible to have an option to show it as dropdownlist (as it were like a day/two ago).
I just thought I found an ideal GTasks solution and this “move to the bottom” change
makes this extension way worse in my eyes because now I turn it on/off all the time
1) turn on to get access to tasks
2) work with tasks
3) turn off to get rid of bottom bar
Fenus4: I also prefer it appearing from the icon at the top, however in this position it prevented you from adding or deleting task lists, so as soon as I fix that bug I will try and get it back up the top again.
The new update to this add-on to is WONDERFUL! It just sits at the bottom of the screen like tasks in gmail. Thanks for the new feature.
Oh, so having it a the bottom has it problems.
But you can turn it off by clicking on the thing icon (like what I said, but up there instead of down here).
I like it: but two suggestions:
- It is too tall, it wastes too much space. Any plans of making it more Estate-saving?
- I think that making it into a Toolstrip instead of a icon is better since you can quickly click in the toolstrip and then the tasks quickly (since they are near each other). Having it up there requires a big mouse movement.
However if you do make it a Toolstrip, can you make the Toolstrip be on the Right and not the left? Having it on the left would be just as bad a having it on the top (big mouse movements are no good).
@ Pedro Rodriquez – It kind of depends on your screen resolution whether it’s too tall, with me it’s just fine. Maybe the extension could automatically make it self 25% of the window height (and a minimum in pixels). Or even better, user-defined height and width?
Is there any way of making the extension remember which task list it was last on? It seems to forget when you change sites, which is kind of annoying since I have about a dozen lists.
Also, logging in through the extension is kind of ugly… Otherwise a great plugin!
could somebody enlighten me how to use this highly popular extension?\
all i can do is to make the check either green or grey with no tasks in sight
why on last version Google Tasks is now back in the main browser window instead of the icon bubble ?
I prefer when it is in bubble
Why on earth does this extension need access to private browser history?
I would recommend no one using this extension as it could be possibility stealing information from your computer.
Found a Bug!
Pretty much it is that the google task is appearing in chrome apps and “mini-windows” (not sure how to call it).
Here’s a pick showing what I’m saying: http://bit.ly/22MJu2
Notice the Chrome window (the big one) and the “mini-window” (on the top left).
Is there a way you could make it optional to use the icon bubble? I miss that…
There is a bug when loading just an image for exemple in the browser, the tasks bar do not have style.
It’s also hide a important part of the webpage, like the bottom bar on facebook. I think the better to do is to put it in the popup of a browser action, or at least allow us to chose where we want it to appear.
Hello,
I prefer this on the top right too.
Hey ! I don’t check in my tasks tousands times a day, who did this ? a simple button off the reading surface is enough.
Thanks for this extension
Hi, love this extention
but like more the old way of manage the taks, in the ballon can you make an option for can return to that.
Thanks
Very useful.
Some issues:
- Does not appear on new tab page (it would be nice if possible, since it is the first page you see when opening the browser)
- The list of taks appears, unstyled, at the bottom of the HTML source when you select view source.
- sometimes when deactivated it doesn’t appear again until you restart the browser.
Using version 0.3.1 on Chrome 4.0.249
The latest version (0.3.1) still has a bug where it creates a double pop-up on google.com/reader. Other than this, perfect.
it blocks the facebook chat & notification bar at the bottom, I say be able to move the Tasks bar around, locking it in place…etc.
Can you make it for the Google Apps? It shouldn’t be big difference. Otherwise, great extension, tnx!
Joe I strongly think that if you are going to try to get it back up top you should have it in the settings as an option that top area gets full REALLY fast!! So, I like it at the bottom
Ryan, that’s what I intend to do, some people love the top, some love the bottom.
I like very much, i might even begin to do stuff so i have tasks to complete
