Version 1.25, launched March 3, 2011

CURRENTLY SUPPORTS YOUTUBE ONLY, more popular video sites coming soon.

I first launched version 1.0 to the public on July 23rd, 2010 and since then my extension has been used to download over FIVE MILLION YouTube videos! Come try it yourself and see why it’s so popular!

Now go to any YT video page. You’ll see a list of links to download vids at the top of every page. Just click the link like normal, and it will save the file for you, properly named, instantly!

Files are automatically named like this: ACCOUNT NAME – VIDEO NAME . flv/mp4

All comments, suggestions, requests, etc. are very welcome. This is my first extension for Chrome.

This extension does not have “AUTO-UPDATE” enabled yet, so please check back every week or so for updates.

    Version 1.24 - By popular demand, added a link at the end of the link list to force the old MP4 version to load, if it was not loaded automatically. Once you click this link, the MP4 version will appear in the link list normally.

    Version 1.21 - Fixed a bug where links would not appear if a YouTube user was using a graphic in place of a text username.

    Version 1.2 - Made lots of enhancements to special character replacement, making the naming process much more stable.

    Very happy to find an extension that actually works. Ugh. I just hope this doesn’t give my computer a virus ;-;

    This update 1.25 is VERY CRITICAL. YouTube changed from using single quotes to double quotes, so the YouTube username was being lost. This problem was discovered March 2nd, and is now fixed in version 1.25.
