Translate a selection of text inside any website and view the result without leaving the page.

Features:

Usage:

It is simple, use the popup menu to access the different functions or simply select the text and use the shortcuts to make inline translations to multimples languages.

You can configure Bubble Translate to hide the icon in your addres bar and simply use shortcuts OR specify the function when you click the icon.

Bubble Translate use http://translate.google.com/ for inline and Real-Time translations.

    Excelent! Just perfect. Works very good and very fast. Maybe include theme compatibility (colored bubble according selected google theme) will it be fine :)

    Very nice extension, but I don’t like toolstrips…
    I modded this version (0.3) to hide the toolstrips. Much better:D

    Just change the extension manifest to:
    “background_page”: “BubbleTranslate.html”
    and add a shortcut to the prefences;)

    Fantastic extension but, like Sam, I don’t like the toolstrip and only wish I understood his mod.
    What is more irksome is there’s a “hide toolstrip” check-box in the preferences, but it is uncheckable.

    Click the Preferences button in the bottom-left (in the toolbar). A menu appears.. Change the language in the dropdown menu.. :D

    Ctrl+Click in Toolstrip icon open Preferences Tab when “Toolstrip click Translate Text” preference is selected.

    In the next release be added “Hide Toolstrip” and Preferences Shortcut options probably, are waiting for improvements APIs to control extensions preferences and Toolstrip control.

    Very impressive work v1c1ous. Eagerly awaiting your improvements.

    A features to consider (API willing) would be an addition to the right-click context menu to translate highlighted text in your language (e.g. English) to another (e.g. German).

    would be very nice to use this extraordinary tool for doing such translation on Ubiquity replacing the text above what you have selected the subject of translation itself.

    Why is the option “Hide Icon” not active? I’ve set the extension to work with hot-keys and the icon (as pretty as it is) is not needed any more.

    Maybe, add a option that show a Chromified* icon in ActionBrowser instead actual, will be fine :) (just fashion)

    *Chromified: Term used by DestructBOT in his GmailChecker extension and refers to an image drawed only with outlines, similar to default Chrome buttons.

    I know, it is a non functional option, but will be fine

    One more thing (not that important), would it be possible to preserve links? It’s not that big a deal, since you can click the links in the original text, but it would be nice.

    The install-time warning caused me to cancel the install:

    “This extension will have access to your browsing history and private data on all websites.”

    How come such an extension gets such a high rating?

    All I want it to do is translate some selected text. How come it needs ALL browsing history and ALL private data on ALL websites?

    Weird and suspicious.

    @nobicycle, ALL EXTENSIONS have this warning. Is a default warning from Chrome, it is not a particular warning for Bubble Translate extension.

    If you be scare with this, you can see the code of all extensions in your personal Chrome folder.

    My browser crashing with this extension esecially when iam shearching something on google, when i was disable this ext. everything was fine again..

    Very nice! However, for languages with special character sets, it would be nice to see the pronunciation too. For an example check out Firefox’s Rikaichan extension (translates Japanese with phonetics shown).
